From this search, after brilliant LH:
Preston is located at the very heart of the north west of England in the County of Lancashire. Preston is also associated with the history of the Beatles in many ways. PRESTON IS AN AWARD-WINNING NATURE PHOTOGRAPHER. Preston is in jail serving a 3-year prison term for bail violation. Preston is demonstrative as a lover. Preston is President and CEO of Atomic Ordered Materials, AOM, Chairman of Quantum Energy Technologies Corp. Do you think Preston is cool enough then? I think Preston is definitely getting there.
(I should use this as my official bio.)
Current reading:
Tim O'Brien, Going After Cacciato
William Everson (poems)

Here's a screenshot of the new main page in its early stages. You'll be able to navigate by clicking on the smoke rings. The hand in the image is mine (of course), covered with the text from one of my poems.
Okay, that was a nice waste of a Monday. On to real work now.

I've made the journal subscription-only. Why? Is it because I think I'm so important that people will actually want to subscribe to read about my daily life? Well, no. It's actually because I plan to post more raw and frequent drafts, and I want to control how readily they move into the public eye. Sorry if this inconveniences you.

Right before a summer storm, there is the sense that the sky has already saturated the earth. The light is cotton-colored, dreamy, seeping and drippy through window screens and blinds. The city takes on a muted, solemn air reminiscent of small churches.
I'm charged and a little raging, but still solemn and expectant. I need to write. Summer storms draw the world near, shrinking it to what little you can hold in your mind when it's saturated with the sizzling background music of a hard rain.

I think the pervasiveness of computing has made us less sensitive to scientific and technological discovery. It seems to me that before everyone owned a computer, we were all interested in how science was coming along. Now we're mostly interested in gigahertz and bandwidth (and of course, recently we're concerned with the technology of war).
Among world-altering news items that make, at best, the back page:
- Planetary system found that resembles ours
- Australian Teleport Breakthrough
No matter how advanced we become, we find ourselves always lost in half-knowledge, swarmed with wonders.
