Leaving Provincetown soon. For the holidays, that is.
and I'm about to do something that you might hate. I'm working on poems about the Fantastic Four. There's a reason, a motive, a purpose. You must find the poetry in our heroes, and you must understand that the kernel of American heroes is identical to the kernel of American villains. Our greatest obstacle is the fact that what we love is also what we hate.

So. Today between bouts of hacking up black stuff, blowing my nose and cursing the fact that I got this cold without even making out with anyone, I began to think about this website. somniloquy.org is three or so years old. When I first started the site, its primary purpose was to act as my online presence; it was a good place to showcase my work and integrate myself into the community of online poetry. Now, I'm not as interested in integrating into that community, showcasing my work online is actually detrimental (it compromises my ability to publish it), and I'm not very interested in an online presence at this time.
So what should I do with this website? What should I put here? What kinds of poetry resources are missing online? What would be fun, interesting, dynamic, profound, exciting, productive, enlightening? How can we use this website to make the world better?
All input is greatly appreciated. Excuse me while I go hack something up.

It's August, so suddenly.
I continue to receive a ton of hits from people googling my name, presumably in connection with the Fine Arts Work Center. To protect my soon-to-be-good name (i.e., to avoid good writers reading stuff I wrote five years ago and thinking that I'm a hack who doesn't deserve the fellowship I received), I've taken the majority of somniloquy.org offline. Check out the index page to see the offline splash, and to see what I look like as a reptile.
The site content is still accessible here, and the older version of somniloquy.org is here.
