updates and the like
March 2, 2006 – 6:35 pmI spent a good hunk of today (as in, all day) hacking the WordPress comments system, because I couldn't find a threaded comments plugin that did what I wanted it to. I think I've gotten it down now, though it remains to be seen how well it will work.
I also added a "friends page," which basically aggregates RSS syndication from the various livejournal/blogger people I regularly read. The result is that I no longer really need to return to livejournal. You can view the page by clicking on the "friends" button at the top of the blog, or by clicking here.

Hey, I read your blog. It’s actually sort of complicated - I’m trying to work out a way to read “friends only” entries remotely, but there are security issues and, frankly, I’m trying to spend less time being a computer geek and more time being a poetry geek. (It’s not going so well.)

When I thought about it for longer than five seconds, I realized the friends-only thing was probably complicated. My hat’s off to you for all the computery stuff you can do. When I open my work computer every day, I start off with some illegible Word document and I have no idea how to make this stop.
Of course, I was also fishing for a compliment. thanks.
